About

Okay so, full disclosure here…I hate writing my own bio. It‘s like answering that “why are you the best candidate for the job” question in a job interview, right? I don’t think anyone really likes doing those, so instead of “selling myself” I’ll just tell you a little bit about me.

I’m a photographer, yes, though I’m pretty sure you figured that out already. I’m also a husband and a dad, a dog-owner, hockey player/coach (back in the day, anyway), keyboardist/vocalist in a band (also back in the day), goofball, dreamer and occasional hopeless romantic.

I’ve always had a creative itch begging to be scratched, but I had no clue how to reach it. Then we took a trip to Moab, Utah (highly recommend checking Moab out, by the way), and I needed a good camera to take photos. VIOLA! My back scratcher turned out to be a camera. I’ve been hooked ever since.

When it comes to my camera, I’ll take a picture of just about anything. Some photographers limit themselves to one niche market or style, but I enjoy the challenge of working with different types of subjects. How do you light a slice of pizza to make it look the most appetizing? What about a model outside on a bright sunny day? Or how do you re-create that classic film noir look in a plain white room in your basement?

When it comes to photographing people, the possibilities are almost endless. I love the connection that you build when you work with another person to create beautiful images. I also love goofing around, which is why working with kids is so much fun. One of my best photo sessions was spent making silly faces and noises back and forth with the smaller goofball on the other side of the camera. It may have looked like insanity to anyone else watching, but it all made perfect sense to us 

So, that’s the super-quick-and-dirty on me. Thanks for stopping by, and please hit me up for your next project, or just to hang out and create some beautiful images!
